About two weeks ago, I got my new cell phone, the Palm Pre from Sprint. Unlink the iPhone SDK that only runs on Mac OSX, the Pre’s SDK runs on Linux, Mac and Windows. This is H U G E and I for one would like to see a iPhone SDK for Windows or Linux (I know I’m not the only one). But seeing that Apple has decided to not support Windows or Linux, I would be focused to use Hackintosh if I wanted to use the SDK.

Anyway, back to Palm’s webOS. The whole phone runs off of Mojo, which is some form/type of Linux. What’s really nice, and big power behind webOS, is the language that’s behind it, fully web based languages. That’s right, xhtml, javascript, css, xml, and last being the API calls for the phone it’s self.
What’s nice about this, is that without learning a new language any web programmer/designer can easily start making apps for the phone. Think about it the same way you do Adobe Air apps, completely designed from web languages.
I’ve been playing around with the SDK, and so far, the learning curve is more with how the assistants, models, and views work together (from my take so far, I’ve been thinking about it like mvc) and the phones own API calls. But the documentation is well done and is easy to follow without having to know any more then client side web languages.

I’ve been using Spotify.com for some time to listen to my fav music when I’m at work or when I’m in front of my computer coding it up. But b/c Spotify is not yet in the US, every 14 days I’ve got to login through a proxy from England to fix it (using Ivacy proxy service). So now that GrooveShark.com has done a huge updated for their flash player, I may say good by to Spotify until they come to the US.
The new look of GrooveShark is stunning! Clearer, faster, and user friendly.

A little bit about GrooveShark, it’s FREE (there is the option to pay to remove the ads), any user can upload music to the network, accounts can save playlist, listen to your play list on any computer that has internet and the flash player installed, …
It’s worth checking out. Also on a side note for any music lover, if your looking to find new bands, check out Pandora.com

It’s about time! Hulu now has Lost on it’s website and we are talking seasons 1-5, all of it. ABC pulled season’s 2-4 a few weeks back from their web player, which I’ve never been a fan of using thier player anyway. If you haven’t watched Lost or need to catch up, this is a prefect time to do so. Hulu Lost »
